About Proctor Accounting
James Proctor
As a Managing Partner of Proctor Accounting, Mr. Proctor is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Mr. Proctor performs audits, reviews, and compilations for clients, including those in retail, professional services, gaming, light manufacturing, real estate, construction, and non-profit organizations. He also does tax planning and tax return preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and estates. He has had considerable experience in litigation support services and has been a court appointed examiner, receiver, and expert witness as well as performing fraud examinations, projections, and valuations.Over the years, Mr. Proctor held positions as chief accountant, casino accountant and internal auditor at the MGM Grand Hotel-Reno. As an auditor for Grant Thornton, he performed audits for casinos throughout the northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area. Mr. Proctor also performed a number of financial engagements for manufacturers, distributors and dealerships.
Mr. Proctor has been a United States Bankruptcy Trustee for the Department of Justice's United States Trustee Office. In addition to performing the normal duties of a trustee in administering estates, the firm has been engaged to locate assets, liabilities, and bankruptcy irregularities, including fraud, preferential transfers, and receiverships.
Bankruptcy related engagements have included reconstruction of records and transactions for Trustees, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Nevada Gaming Control Board, Internal Revenue Service and other governmental agencies.
